Research
Research Themes
My original research topic is geometric modeling,
in particular parametric representations, subdivision and multi-scale
representations in general. After I took office in 2002 in a group
working on multimedia, and joined the VORTEX team, I worked on
collaborative analysis and synthesis of images (visual tracking, shape
from shading) and transmission of 3D models.
Current research
My current research interests are :
- Using new models for CAGD, based on non polynomial bases, that is, trigonometric functions (collaboration with Sandrine Lanquetin, Université de Dijon) or
rationnal functions (collaboration with Ron Goldman, Rice University).
- Modeling and 3D reconstruction (with Vincent
Charvillat and Pierre Gurdjos, both also in the VORTEX team).
- Transmission of 3D models to heterogeneous terminals
, with (Romulus Grigoras, in the VORTEX team, Wei Tsan Ooi, National
University of Singapore, Sebastien Mondet, Wei Cheng, et Fréderic
Boudon, CIRAD Montpellier).
- Compression on board sattelites, (with Vincent Charvillat,
Marie Chabert, et Xavier Delaunay, Noveltis).
